Thanksgiving in the Great Northwoods
Jake, Lily, Duke, and I had a really nice Thanksgiving in Rhinelander - she didn't eat any turkey, but she did have lots of quality time with her grandparents. On Saturday afternoon, we took a walk through downtown with Mimi to visit the bookstore and the toy store, and I couldn't resist taking a picture of this sign in front of one of the bars. Unfortunately we weren't able to participate in the drinking compition.
Lily smiles for the camera, at last!
Lily's new best friend...her thumb!
Georgia Girl
Here are some pics from our recent trip to Georgia and SC. Lily had a great time hanging out with Gram and Papa all week and meeting lots of new people, including Auntie Tara and Great Grandma. The weather was WONDERFUL (75 and sunny), and Lily was really good on her first plane ride back to Chicago!!!
During the first leg of our trip (hanging out at the hotel in KY while Daddy and Papa were hunting), Lily decided to push up on her elbows during tummy time. She was working so hard she even drooled a little bit!
We had a nice dinner with Great-Great-Aunt Libby
And we had so much fun walking in our 'little big-girl' stroller. I made the wise yet painful decision to leave my precious BOB (the huge cushy jogging stroller that Jake calls 'the SUV') at home so that I would not have to deal with it at the airport, but I really wanted to take Lily for walks in the nice weather, so I bought this little reclining stroller for $30 at the Vidalia Wal-mart. It's no BOB, but Lily loved it! Propped up by 3 swaddle blankets so that she could sit up straight, she had such a great time being able to face forward for the first time ever, and Mommy got some exercise to burn off all the good Southern food. :)
'Nuff said...she's a good eater!
Lily and I just went in for her 2-month checkup yesterday afternoon, and it was all good (and big!) news. She weighed in at a whopping 14 lbs 6 oz, almost 3 pounds up from last month, and she is 23.5 inches long. What a big girl!!! The doctor was very pleased with her growth and development, and Jake and I couldn't be prouder of our little Michelin baby. :)
